Echoes of Home is a landmark anthology celebrating South Asian heritage through powerful intergenerational stories of migration, memory, identity, faith, family, food, resilience, joy, and belonging. Emerging from the DEIJB Lab’s first citywide storytelling campaign, the collection brings together voices that have too often remained absent from Hong Kong’s public narratives and preserves them as a living archive for future generations.
Through deeply personal reflections and community histories, readers are invited to explore what home means across generations and how heritage shapes our sense of self, connection, and belonging. The stories reveal the richness and complexity of South Asian experiences in Hong Kong while challenging simplistic assumptions about migration, citizenship, community, and identity.

Journey With Me Through Hong Kong, My Home is Hong Kong’s first children’s activity book centred on the real-life stories of ethnically diverse women who call the city home. Created by the DEIJB Lab in partnership with community members, the book offers children a fun, engaging, and meaningful way to learn about the people, cultures, and experiences that make Hong Kong vibrant and diverse.
Packed with interactive activities including word searches, mazes, greetings from around the world, colouring pages, flag tracing, letter-writing exercises, I-Spy challenges, and more, the book nurtures creativity, curiosity, and cognitive development while introducing children to stories they may not often encounter in classrooms, books, or everyday life.
As children explore each woman’s journey, they gain insight into her background, interests, family life, aspirations, and experiences. Along the way, they are encouraged to reflect on the shared hopes, emotions, and values that connect us across cultures and communities.
