EDSWOP

The network aims to amplify these voices and offer a collective platform for knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and systemic advocacy.

01 Problem

Ethnically diverse social workers face systemic discrimination, isolation, and limited support throughout their careers. These challenges affect their well-being, career advancement, and ability to deliver equitable care.

02 Approach

EDSWOP creates a platform for collective storytelling, mentorship, and critical dialogue. It empowers practitioners to navigate racial trauma, workplace power dynamics, and structural barriers in the field.

03 Solution

By sharing best practices and advocating for inclusive training and placements, EDSWOP drives institutional change. Its cross-agency partnerships foster safer, more culturally competent environments for both workers and clients.

About the Initiative

EDSWOP was formed in response to the unique barriers faced by ethnically diverse social workers in their professional journeys — from qualifying exams and practice placements to workplace discrimination. The network aims to amplify these voices and offer a collective platform for knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and systemic advocacy.
